Fade Away and Radiate, blue and white abstract painting

$1,200.00

This is a multi panel encaustic painting done on nine separate 12” square cradled wood panels, that hang together.

The encaustic paint is a mixture of beeswax, damar crystals, and powdered pigment.

The paint surface is rich and highly textured.

This series of painting are named after songs, as like listening to a piece of music, the feeling imparted by the work is open to interpretation. I see these pieces as a mirror of sorts for the viewer to see what they bring to it.

This ships ready to hang, in a simple pine exhibition frame.

Encaustic paint is made from a combination of beeswax, pigment, and damar, and is worked by heating and melting the materials. Encaustic paintings are very durable (examples remain from ancient Egypt) but they are susceptible to high temperatures, so they should not be hung in a place which may get excessively hot, in direct sunlight, or near a radiator, for example.
