Erector Spinae, encaustic painting on wood

This is bold geometric encaustic painting on wood panels, framed with a simple white edge frame. The format is a long and narrow, (8.5”w by 51”h” framed) and it is designed to bring graphic color and textural interest to spaces that might not fit most paintings. The spaces that are not painted are raw wood.

Encaustic paint is made from a combination of beeswax and resin, and it is applied by heating and melting the paint. Like most paintings, encaustics should not be hung in direct sunlight or in places that get excessively hot.
