Happy Thanksgiving! I hope you all have a joyous holiday season. As you may have noticed, I've embarked on an exploration of abstraction for the first time in more than twenty years. I've gone back to paintings I made many many years ago, and decided to pick up where I left off back then. Now I'm hooked, and have committed myself to an entire year of abstract work!
I am also exploring new (to me) media, including print making and encaustic painting. I have completely fallen in love with encaustic (a heated combination of bee's wax and damar resin). The alchemy of heating and cooling the wax allows for amazing texture, and the possibilities are endlessly exciting.
To that end, I have just hung a show of my newest abstract paintings at Creekside Cafe, in Trumansburg. This will be up until mid December. I'm really excited about how great the work looks in their space. Come check it out if you are in the area!
